“Muse” shows John Legend still connected to the source of his sound and the Ohio vocalist keeps the performances grounded throughout. Selective appearances from Pharrell Williams and Clipse create small shifts in color that prevent the project from staying completely uniform. Sixteen tracks give the album enough room to explore the latest of his sound.
