The new album “Grip Thumb 2 Paper Cuts” puts BLP Kosher in a mellower pocket than his louder Michigan runs, with trap beats filling space his voice used to crowd. 23 tracks make that choice feel deliberate and also a bit stubborn which is a neutral note rather than a compliment. The first half dozen tracks tell the whole story.
